The Green Dog Gallery opened in June 2004. It represents emerging and established artists from the Riverina, the ACT, Sydney, Melbourne and regional NSW, including local Indigenous artists. The Gallery offers a diverse collection of paintings, sculpture, drawings, photography, collage, ceramics, assemblage, printmaking, mixed media, woodturning and textiles.

The Gallery is located at 147 Sheridan Street Gundagai NSW, off the Hume Highway. It is open September to July every Thursday / Friday / Saturday, and the Sunday and Monday of long weekends, from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm, and at other times by appointment. An opportunity to Meet the Artists occurs each year in November, when the Gallery hosts talks by exhibiting artists during Gundagai's Dog on the Tuckerbox Festival.

The historic town of Gundagai is approximately 4 hours drive from Sydney, 5 hours from Melbourne and 2 hours from Canberra, and can also be reached by Countrylink and other coach services. Accommodation is available at a range of farmstays, motels, hotels and caravan parks.
